Teh Bo Dizzle is honoring this month’s Ramadan with another famous “White House Iftar Dinner” (TM). The LATimes has a transcript of his remarks, in which he blathers about “proud and patriotic” muslims, and goes into great detail linking them to 9/11.
No, not linked in the way you might imagine – but saying they were equally the Victims, like other Americans. He makes a big point of muslim first responders, other muslims who may have been victims in the attacks, and then muslim military members, asing some of these groups to “… Stand and be recognized. (Applause).” Nice photo op.
So these are quintessentially American celebrations — people of different faiths coming together, with humility before our maker, to reaffirm our obligations to one another, because no matter who we are, or how we pray, we’re all children of a loving God.
OK – that was too rich for me to leave out! “Children of a loving God” is how Christians describe their relationship to God. Jews know they are loved by God – he told them so.
But Allah does not appear to love. The many and grotesque descriptions of hell in the quran, the many and grotesque descriptions of the punishments for disobeying Allah, do not bring to mind Love. And witness the lack of love in muslim’s interactions with the world. Can we all say “9/11”?
Back to Iftar.
Teh Bo reprises his theme of “muslims have always been an integral part of America”. On this topic, Atlas Shrugs has a brief and pithy post, to which I will simply link: check it out! : )
